PENNY PINEAPPLE - Vintage Mechanical Bank

Rare original Penny Pineapple Bank made in 1960 to commemorate Hawaii's Statehood and the addition of the 50th Star to US Flag. Excellent condition, 8 " tall, fully operational.

Penny Pineapple is similar in operation to a number of the bust type of mechanical banks such as Humpty Dumpty. When any coin up to and including a 50-cent piece is placed in her right hand she is ready for action. A lever located to the rear of the left shoulder is pressed and she raises her right hand to her mouth and swallows the coin. At the same time her tongue recedes and she rolls her eyes upward in appreciation. Releasing the lever returns the arm, tongue, and eyes to the position shown in the picture.

Penny Pineapple is a well made cast iron mechanical bank. The bank is painted in very attractive bright colors. The face is a tan color with some red highlighting on the cheeks, the eyebrows are outlined in black, and she has blue eyes. Her lips and tongue are bright red and the teeth are white. The back of her head has the texture and appearance of a pineapple and the leaves atop her head are green. On the front of her chest is a large yellow five-pointed star and this star has ‘50th’ in black raised letters thereon. She has a blue collar and blue sleeves and the striping across the front and back of her blouse is in red and white. Across the back is inscribed the name "Penny Pineapple" in raised letters.

Limited Edition TEN Dollar Gaming Tokens (7)

One Token especially designed and minted for each island.

This set took time to build as Silver Strikes are special Jackpots won from certain slot machines in various Las Vegas casinos. This set came from the OLD Union Plaza hotel and Casino, PRE- Barrick corporation purchase. Silver Strikes have a casino $10.00 face value but are worth much more as they are made from .999 FINE SILVER and are about the same size as a U.S. Silver Eagle Silver Dollar.

This set was extremely hard to build as most sets only have 3 maybe 4 strikes to it, but this set needed 7 to make it complete and when you count the time, the $$$ + the luck to win multiple slot machine jackpots (not just 7 Jackpots but many, many, more as strikes came out in random and lots of duplicates came before ever getting the complete set) to try and aquire all 7.

WOW what a set to build!!! This set took many trips to aquire, but here it is, COMPLETE for you!!!!

His Hawaiian Royal Coat of Arms jewelry contained 34 crosses on two similar patterns with slight variations between the two. His Hawaiian jewelry was made from sterling silver and 14K gold. Culman had various marks on his pieces that contained his initials "HC" or "H C" and sometimes with "STERLING".

Guilloche Enamel

Guilloche enamel is a type of enamel style that has an engraved metal base with a repeated pattern, most Guilloche enamel have wavy patterns, and layering with transparent enamel. Most importantly is the quality of antique enameled jewelry. The enameling consisted of glass and lasts a very long time. Most pieces look brand new due to the durability of glass enameling as opposed to modern enameling techniques that do not consist of glass and therefore need consistent periodic re-enameling.
